Arriving in Sunnydale, Spike finds out some interesting facts.

* The big boss of Sunnydale is a small kid, called the Anointed one.
* There is a slayer about.
* No one has told him who to kill for fun.

He offers his Slayer killing services to the "annoying" one.

"You know what I find works real good with Slayers? Killing them."
Vampires are massing for St Vigius on Saturday. Spike goes to find the slayer. She is more concerned about the parents evening she has been made to organise.
At the Parent Teacher Day, Spike and his gang attack parents/teachers/students. Everyone hides, Xander escapes and goes for Angel. Some people say Angel is Spike sire. But he is NOT. Drusilla sired Spike. Okay, moving on. Angel pretends he is still Angelus.

"You think you can fool me?! You were my sire, man! You were my... Yoda!"
Spike doesn't fall for it. Buffy, the vampire slayer, comes along to save the day. Joyce hits Spike with an axe, as he is about to hurt Buffy. Spike leaves, ready to fight another day. He returns to Dru, dusts the kid and takes over.

"From now on, we're going to have a lot less ritual and a little more fun around here!"

Settling in for a quiet Halloween, Spike finds out that a little visit from Ethan Rayne makes life interesting. He chases the slayer, who is weak and helpless. The spell is broken just before he gets to sink his fangs in. He makes a tactical retreat, in other words, ran away.
Ford, an old friend of Buffy's, has promised Spike the Slayer in return for making him a vampire. Spike agrees, reluctantly. Wouldn't you if your happy meal came up to you and made a deal to have the drink for free?

"I've known you for two minutes and I can't stand you. I don't really feature you living forever. Can I eat him now, love?" ~Spike to Dru
Buffy uses Drusilla as a bargaining tool and locks Spike and his gang inside club. They eat and run away again.
Spike prepares a ritual to restore Drusilla's strength he sends a trio of deadly assassins after Buffy to keep her out of their way. It turns out the ritual needs Drusilla's Sire, Angel, to work. A new Slayer comes into town and puts Angel in a room that slowly fills up with sunlight. Spike pays Willy, the bar tender, for Angel. Then gives Angel to Drusilla to play with.
The church, where Spike starts but fails to finish the ritual, collapses. Buffy and gang leave, thinking them dead. Drusilla rises from rubble looking stronger and rescues a rather battered looking Spike.
